When Shiva wanted to enter, the child stopped him. On this Shiva fought fiercely with the child but no one could defeat him in the battle. Ultimately Lord Shankar got angry and cut off that child's head with his trident. This enraged Bhagwati Siva and she decided to do the holocaust. The frightened gods pacified Jagadamba on the advice of Devarshinarada. On the instructions of Shiva, Vishnu cut the head of the first found creature (elephant) in north direction. Mrityunjaya Rudra revived him by placing that forehead on the child's torso. Mother Parvati took that gajmukhbalak from Harshatirek with her heart and blessed her to be a pioneer among the gods. Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh declared the boy to be the head of all and gave the boon to Agarpujya. Lord Shankar said to the child - Girijanandan! Your name will be paramount in destroying obstacles. Ganesh Chaturthi Story

Ganesh Chaturthi----According to mythology, once Mata Parvati was applying sandalwood before taking bath. With this boil he prepared Lord Ganesha and made him sit outside the door of the house for protection. After this, mother Parvati started taking bath. When Lord Shiva reached home, Lord Ganesha stopped him from entering the house. This enraged Lord Shiva and severed Ganesha from the head. Mother Parvati became very sad when she came to know about this. After this, Lord Shiva promised him that he would bring Ganesha alive. Lord Shiva asked his people to find the head of Ganesha. If the Ganas could not find the head of any child, they brought the head of an elephant child and installed it to Lord Ganesha. Thus it is believed that Lord Ganesha was born again with the head of an elephant. According to beliefs, this incident happened on the day of Chaturthi. Therefore this day is celebrated as Ganesh Chaturthi.

Other story

Ganesh Chaturthi----A Ganesh statue is taken for immersion in the festival.

Once Mahadevji went to the banks of Narmada including Parvati. At a beautiful place there, Parvati ji expressed her desire to play Chaupad with Mahadevji. Then Shivji said- Who will be the witness of our victory and defeat? Parvati immediately collected the grass straws and made an effigy and put her life in it and said to her - son! We want to play Chaupar, but there is no one to witness defeat or victory here. Therefore, at the end of the game you can witness our defeat and win and tell who among us won, who lost?

The game started. Parvati ji won thrice by chance. When the boy was finally decided to win and lose, he called Mahadevji victorious. As a result, Parvati ji got angry and cursed her to go limp from one leg and suffer in the mud there.

The child said politely - Mother! I have done so out of ignorance. I did not do this due to any malice or malice. Forgive me and tell me the way to get rid of the curse. Then the mother gave pity to him and she said - Here Nag-girls will come to worship Ganesha. By his preaching, you will get Ganesha fast and get me. Having said this, she went to Mount Kailash.

A year later, the snake-girls came to Shravan to worship Ganesh. Nag-girls fasted Ganesha and also told that child the method of fasting. After that the child fasted for 12 days to Shree Ganeshji. Then Ganeshji appeared to him and said - I am happy with your fast. Ask for a desired groom. The boy said - God! Give me so much power in my feet that I can reach my parents on Mount Kailash and they will be happy on me.

Ganesha became intransigent by saying 'Aastastu'. The child reached the feet of Lord Shiva. Shivji asked him about the means of reaching there.

Then the child narrated the whole story to Shiva. On the same day, Parvati became disgusted with Shiva as well. Subsequently, Lord Shankar also fasted for 21 days like a child, to Shree Ganesh, due to which the desire of Parvati to meet Mahadevji himself was awakened.

She reached Mount Kailash soon. After reaching there, Parvati ji asked Shiva - God! What is the remedy that you have taken as a result of which I have come to you. Shivji told him the history of 'Ganesh Vrat'.

Then Parvati ji worshiped Ganeshji in 21-21 days for 21 days with the desire of meeting his son Kartikeya with Durva, flowers and laddus. On the 21st day Karthikeya met Parvati himself. He also fasted after hearing the significance of this fast from the mouth of the mother.

Karthikeya told this fast to Vishwamitraji. Vishwamitra took a vow and asked Ganesha to be free from birth and ask for the boon of being a 'Brahma-sage'. Ganeshji fulfilled his wish. Such are Shri Ganeshji, who fulfills everyone's wishes.

Once Mahadevji went to Bhogavati to bathe. After her departure, Parvati made an effigy from the scum of her body and named it 'Ganesh'. Parvati said to him- O son! Take a Mugdal and sit at the door. I am going inside and taking a bath. Do not let any man come in until I bathe.

When Lord Shiva came after taking bath in Bhogavati, Ganeshji stopped him at the gate. Shivji considered it an insult and, being angry, parted his head and went inside. Parvati, seeing him angry, understood that Mahadevji was angry due to the delay in food. So he immediately served Shivji in two plates and called Shiva.

Seeing the second platter, Shiva ji was astonished and asked- For whom is this second platter? Parvati ji spoke for son Ganesh, who is guarding the gate outside.
